Sound Therapy Meditative Workshop

April 14, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

FREE

What is sound therapy?

Sound therapy affects the physical body in much the same way as a “hands-on” massage. It also affects the physiology of the brain. Much like hypnosis, sound therapy alters brainwaves from a hyperactive state and moves them through states of deep calm and relaxation. Sound affects us in the physical, emotional, and mental realms.

Therapeutic sound initiates the relaxation response by shutting down the “fight or flight” systems and re-activates the “rest and digest” systems of calm. Harmonic sounds produce a better mood, a more rational mind, regulate breath and metabolism, reduce muscle tension, improve sleep patterns, and many others. Harmonic sounds have been shown to promote structure to the stresses the body encounters in everyday life and give them an outlet to get back on track.

One benefit almost all participants report is experiencing rejuvenation and restoration to achieving deep states of relaxation and disconnections from anxiety and stress.

How to enjoy the experience of Sound Therapy

• Turn off your cell phone (not even set to vibrate).

• Get comfortable: Remove any metal that you might be wearing, such as large jewelry, belt buckles, key, etc. Weddings bands should be ok.

• Settle in: Lie on a mat, cover up with a blanket, wear warm socks, use a bolster under your head, knees, and/or neck, or an eye covering

• Be open to the experience: Feel free to set an intention or just relax and enjoy.
