Joe Sherwood
Joe (67) and his wife Cindy have three children, Adam, Beth, and Erin, as well as two grandchildren, Carson and Cadence.
Joe has been a Bellin Health Fitness member since 1990 and has been extremely active in the Bellin Health Community serving as a Patient Advisor and a member of our Performance Management Team for the last eight years. Those of you may recognize him from the posters for our “I will know you. I will show you respect. I will go with you on your journey.” campaign.
As a Patient Advisor and member of the Performance Management Team, Joe’s goal is to supply a voice for our patients. One example of how Joe has worked to enhance himself for this critical role is by enrolling in classes offered by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. He believes this helps him better understand what Bellin is actively doing to improve Patient Safety.
Joe’s motivation in the fitness center began with his passion for golf. Joe won the 1994 Brown County Amateur as well as the 2014 Northeast Wisconsin Senior Amateur Championship. A few of the obstacles Joe has had to overcome have been a shoulder surgery and planter fasciitis. He credits the Fitness and Rehab staff at Bellin for helping him overcome his shoulder pain as well as manage his planter fasciitis better. All in all, Joe continues to work out to help him stay healthy while also improving his quality of life.
Joe’s one big piece of advice for members is to utilize the FREE injury assessment with Jim Beversdorf that is open to all members. Jim is available at our Ashwaubenon location Mondays and Fridays 10:00 am – 12:00pm, our Bellevue location on Thursdays 9:00 – 10:30am, and our walk-in clinic at Bellin Health Titletown.
