Evy is 46 years old and married to husband Mark. They have three children, 3 dogs and a bird. Evy is self-employed and enjoys scrapbooking and card making in her free time.
What first motivated Evy to begin her fitness journey was when she was diagnosed with type II diabetes. From that moment, she knew she wanted to lose weight and become overall healthier. She then came to Bellin Fitness Center and started to work with a personal trainer, Liz.
Evy had to overcome some obstacles. Being diagnosed with diabetes meant she had to not only start exercising but eating better as well. She had to really watch her carbohydrate and sugar intake. She also had to get her body use to working out 2-3 times a week when never exercising before.
Evy was able to over come these obstacles and be successful. Within the first two months of these changes, her blood sugar was down and no longer had diabetes. Within six months she was down 42 pounds and feeling healthy! She is now able to work out 2-3 times per week with no problems and her inflammation is gone as well. Bellin Fitness played a big part in Evy’s success. Her personal trainer, Liz was a huge help! She taught Evy the correct way to exercise while keeping it fun, which made Evy always wanting to come back for more.
Evy’s current goals are to tolerate heavier weights and longer workouts. She also wants to lose up to 100 pounds. Evy says she feels healthier and more active. When she goes hiking or biking, she does not feel completely defeated anymore. Her advice for others is simple, “Don’t give up, keep going, its all worth it in the end.”
